Chief Strategy Officer

Our client is seeking a proven professional to join a winning team as the Chief Strategy Officer.  Reporting directly to the CEO, the Chief Strategy Officer is responsible for developing long-term strategy, near-term tactical marketing plans, mentoring the business development processes, overseeing the proposal development and marketing organization, working with the Operations leadership to develop sound capture strategies, participating in key capture efforts, and leading major intercompany pursuits. The successful candidate will ensure the company maintains market focus, has a ever-strengthening pipeline of opportunities, continually improves its BD and capture processes, develops and trains BD professionals in subsidiary company organizations, and serves as a “change agent” to increase market share as a large business.

The Ideal Candidate (specific capabilities highlights)

• 15+ years of experience in business development for federal facilities operations/maintenance, logistics, training, and related services business lines
• Experience in Department of Defense (DoD) business development is a MUST, and experience with other federal civilian agencies (NASA, DOE, NGA) is strongly desired; experience in commercial markets considered a plus
• Comprehensive knowledge of federal government proposal development including strategies for bidding/pricing
• Experience leading a Business Development group in a medium to large organization (mega-programs and joint ventures a “+”)
• Familiarity and success in an matrix organization
• Bachelors Degree in an Engineering or related technical discipline a preference; Advanced degree preferred (MBA or Tech Masters)
• Ability to attain a top secret clearance
